Purple Sunbird - बैंगनी शक्करखोरा

Size: 19-21cm
Description: breeding male is a striking glossy, metallic blue-purple-green depending on the light, with a very dark belly. Female and non-breeding male are a pale olive-brown above with yellow underparts; the female a paler yellow and the non-breeding male brighter yellow with a thick dark stripe from the chin to belly and some dark, metallic blue speckles. All have distinctive long, thin, downward-curving bill. Usually seen around flowering shrubs and trees.
Diet: nectar, small invertebrates and small fruits.
Song: wide variety of calls.
Breeds: April-June.
