Size: 30-36cm

Description: body size and plumage colour vary wildly thanks to extensive breeding and release of domestic birds, but generally pale grey underparts with darker grey head and upper parts, often speckled on the wing. Throat often has iridescent green and purples.

Diet: forages on open ground for mainly seeds, grains and fruits.

Song: familiar cooing.

Breeds: year round.
