Indian White-Eye -  बबूना

Zosterops palpebrosus

Size: 10cm

Description: very small, bright yellow bird with distinctive white ring around eye. Wing and tail edges are grey, chest and underbelly white. Sexes alike. Stick mainly to trees where they hop around, though occasionally seen on the ground. They groom frequently after feeding.

Diet: small buds, seeds, fruits, nectar and invertebrates. It is regarded as an important pollinator.

Song: described at “brief, thin and wispy”.

Breeds: Feb-Sep with peak Apr-Jun
